Warminster Infantry Shoot

The Infantry Shoot is privileged to have the game shooting rights over most of the western third of Salisbury Plain Training Area (SPTA), which is usually closed to the public. Consequently, we have shooting that is outstanding value for money and we enjoy seeing a wide range of fauna and flora.
Our aim is to provide affordable shooting to serving members of Warminster Garrison but we also represent the wider community with many retired servicemen and civilians.  It is one of the largest shoots on the Plain and yet it has a strong service family ethos, offering a wide range of shooting to beginners and experienced shots alike, young and old(er).  It is a homely shoot with non-shooting supporters around the world and families welcomed to beat and experience a shooting day  We keep in touch with non-shooting supporters by email, ready for when they return home to UK.

The Shoot has about 80 members, of whom 50 are licensed to shoot at anyone time.  We have 3 game shoots:
Plains shoot. Every member belongs to this.
Driven shoot.  48 guns.  Shoot members pay extra for the driven shoot.
Pottering.
The Driven Shoot applications are normally issued in the December ahead of the next season. If you are interested in joining the Shoot or wish to log an interest for any form of membership, please get in touch via the CONTACTS PAGE for an application form, or ask any questions.

The Shoot invests much time and effort to ensure it offers everything it can to help new guns, young family guns and, of course, dog training.  Without our hard working gun dogs, we wouldn't be able to find, shoot or retrieve a fraction of the pheasants that we will be putting down for the coming season.

We take our responsibilities seriously.  We follow the BASC Code of Practice, act to be Good Neighbours with other activities on Salisbury Plain and also contribute to conservation.  If you are looking for a shoot that has an all round big family approach, then please feel free to contact us.
Good shooting!!
