The Driven Shoot meets on 12 Saturdays each season, on which each of the 48 Guns are allocated 6 days. We normally shoot between 6 and 8 drives on a day, with two teams of 12 guns alternating between standing and beating.
Family members are encouraged and welcomed to join in with the beating. Several experienced pickers-up provide support and the Shoot encourages dogs and handlers that are learning.
The Shoot primarily shoots Pheasant which are put down during the summer but woodcock and pigeon are also shot. The bag averages about 70 for a driven day, all of which are distributed among guns and supporters for the pot. The current annual subscription includes:
